Oh man, that is so cool! I never would have thought about swapping in a Forester suspension as a means of lifting it.

wheel size ok, tyre size WAY too big, they rubbed like crazy. The one in the vid was lifted thus avoiding this issues.

peep here for things I did, http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/tag/subaru-sum…

parts interchangeability...its what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

Pretty common swap, but you need to add other things as well to keep the alignment within some sort of spec. Spacers and trailing link mounts and whatnot.

I went with Outback struts on mine because I didn't want to go THAT crazy.

I find the lack of skid plates.... frightening.

It's also what makes a Japanese car, a Japanese car. Honda and Toyota also have a history of making engines mount up to the same places, and often expand off certain models.

Nobody does it like Subaru, it doesn't hurt that the EJ and EZ engines have been the only engines for over a decade, until recently.

I don't think that's what the maker of those widebody fenders had in mind. Awesome.

Hmmm. Swap Impreza with Legacy, and you're onto something. Unless you meant the XV which is clearly not an outdoorsy name. Unless you meant to include a picture of the generation in the video, in which case it was an Outback "Sport". Hmmm, indeed...

I see, that figures. How much did the Outback struts lift it?

About 2 inches? I don't remember exactly. Gained another inch and a half or so with the taller tires I was running.

Right on! I lifted my WRX with King springs and slapped some Grabbers on 04 FXT wheels. I love it!
